FAQ
How long do projects take?
It usually depends on the scope of the product we are creating together. Some projects can take a couple of days; more involved projects can take longer. We understand that there are certain deadlines within a district's calendar year, some spoken, and some not. We will discuss and prioritize your timeline during our initial consultation and create a itemized deliverable schedule that accommodates your needs as much as possible, with reviews at variable stages that we will set together before we deliver your completed vision.
Do you travel?
We love to travel! We enjoy experiencing how districts around the country do education, and sharing strategies that we've noted to be effective in our travels. Our crew will travel anywhere in the United States and Canada. There are additional costs when we travel out of state to cover our expenses; these will also be discussed during the intake phase and you will be provided with an itemized expense list before we agree on terms, so there aren't any surprises.
Can you film in an active classroom?
Absolutely! Our crew is entirely comprised of educators with experience at multiple levels, including in the classroom, that's what makes us uniquely qualified to handle your project; we know how to capture the essentials without getting in the way or disrupting the flow and pacing of instruction. Appropriate image, video, and press release paperwork is included in our project flow. We are familiar with lesson plan structures and transitions which helps us set up shots that other production companies would miss. We also love working with students and our hearts for children will shine through our work on day one. We also have decades of combined experience working with students with all disabilities, with years of experience working with students in centers-based classrooms, alternative schools, and residential facilities, which means behavioral events that might send other crews running for the hills won't shock us at all; moreover , we know how to respond in those situations to allow responders to do their job.
How many revisions are included?
This usually depends on the scope of the project. For short video projects and static projects such as district branding or graphic design, we would provide three rounds of revisions. For larger video projects such as professional development modules or multi piece asynchronous professional development courses, there would be multiple rounds of revision for each module. We offer different starting packages to give a scope of what your project might cost. This will be discussed extensively during our initial consultation and we would set a delivery schedule which includes revision cycles as we formalize your project vision and before we start production.
Do you provide captioning/accessibility support?
Yes, of course. With our extensive experience providing professional development opportunities at the central district leadership level, accessibility remains an important value and focus in our work. You can expect projects to be optimized to provide maximum access for all learners; a detail that many other production companies have not even started to consider yet.
Can projects be customized to district initiatives?
This is our uniquely crucial element of our work that could potentially save you tens of thousands of dollars. Our team has decades of experience in central district leadership and management, so district initiatives are nothing new to us. Quite often, we were involved in their development. We understand the importance of consistent, unified vision and messaging that is accurate the first time. Our team has years of experience communicating district initiatives to over 200 schools in the largest school district in Colorado, and then supporting school teams on the back end. We know the questions you will be asked. We know the concerns that building leaders and teachers will have, and how to address them. We know what to say, and more importantly, what not to say, which will save your district thousands of dollars in expensive reshoots or full on edits. We are experienced enough to get it right the first time, and to do so with passion, empathy, and from the perspective of educators who understand educators.
